God’s faithfulness and mercy in your life
Train your eyes to see God’s faithfulness. Through our seasons of joy and prosperity it is vital that we meditate on His consistent love for us. In doing so, we train our minds to acknowledge Him in our difficulties.
Waiting and knowing
When Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentations, he had much to mourn. Jerusalem was destroyed. It was in this time that He acknowledged the pain and sorrow he experienced while also acknowledging the Lord.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young” (Lamentations 3:22-27)
How do you wait and know? When destruction and devastation surround you, there is an eternal hope to entrust your life with. It’s important to allow yourself to feel negative emotions, but allow them to bring your heart to the feet of Jesus. He too wept. If you want to learn to see God’s faithfulness in your life today, begin acknowledging Him in all things, knowing His salvation will find you again and again.
Remember
Memory is a powerful tool. Remember the places you’ve been brought out of. Keep a running list in a journal or on your phone to review regularly. As you recollect God’s hand in your life, begin to declare life to your present and future. Remembering stirs your heart in love. Incredibly, it bears fruit in your life.
