Life is fragile. But fear not! COVID-19 has affected thousands of people causing widespread fear in all nations. What should we do in this situation? David says in Psalm 51:14 ERV “God, spare me from the death penalty. My God, you are the One who Saves me!” David teaches us to take our fears and troubles to the God Who loves us.
In Psalm 116:3-9 David remembers, “The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: ‘Lord, save me!’ The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.”
Isn’t it wonderful that we can turn to God and know that He will save us!?!?

Our God has a history of saving
The Bible tells us God saved His children many times. He broke universal laws and did miracles for them! He split the Red Sea and made a path for them to walk across, provided food in the wilderness and brought out water from a rock to quench their thirst.
When the ten plagues came on Egypt He protected His beloved children. Exodus 9:25-26 says, “The hail struck down throughout all the land of Egypt everything that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail beat down all the vegetation of the field and shattered every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were, was there no hail.”
God values relationship
God loves all the children, “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:45) And God calls each of us into a loving relationship with Him, “Thus says the Lord, He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” (Isaiah 43:1) Those who answer this call receive His best.
He gave His children the privilege to ask Him anything. Psalm 9:10 says, “They who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity].”
“Fear not. I am with you,” says the Lord your God.
‘Fear Not’, says the Lord
Psalm 18:30 tells us, “God is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, ““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
In Psalm 23:4, David says, “Yea, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.”
God asks you to trust Him
When you walk in relationship with God, He keeps you safe. Knowing that the greatest power on earth is protecting you is amazing. Isaiah 54:17 says, “You shall establish yourself in righteousness (rightness, in conformity with God’s will and order): you shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction, for you shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near you.”
If you have put your trust in God and accepted Jesus as your Saviour, cast all your cares on Him, He will take care of you.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, you too can become a part of God’s beloved family by simply asking Him into your life!
