Vladimir Calderon thought God “had better priorities” than healing his injured ankle. But God showed him that He cared.
His Story
Vladimir walks almost everywhere. It suits his active lifestyle. In June 2023, as he was leaving his Brooklyn apartment, that lifestyle came to a sudden halt.
“I was preparing myself to go to the gym that day. As I was going down the stairs, my ankle twisted all the way to the right,” he recalled. “And right there, I just saw stars like it was so painful. Felt like a big stabbing in the foot.”
He figured the ache would subside. After a few days, his feet and ankles swelled, prompting him to seek medical attention. One doctor said that it was all fine.
“One doctor gave me a hard boot where it wouldn’t move but it wasn’t even working. It was actually making it more painful,” he said.
After two months, his foot still hadn’t improved. So Vladimir returned to his doctor, who prescribed him a brace to wear. He tried to ignore the pain, but it started limiting his day-to-day activities.
Better Priorities
“Most of the time I would stay home but it was just so painful. I couldn’t go out. This injury was controlling me in a way where I couldn’t do what I normally would do. Go to the gym, take a walk, go to groceries. It makes me feel like an invalid person. Pretty much just defeated,” he said.
Vlad’s faith started to weaken. He began doubting if he would ever recover.

“I was just like, ‘God, my pain is really, really strong, I cannot bear it anymore. I felt like my purse was just bouncing off and just not going to discourage God wasn’t going to heal me. He probably has better priorities,” he said.
But after a while, Vladimir felt like God was telling him to watch The 700 Club.
“I turned on The 700 Club. What made me sit still and watch it was just the anointing was so real,” he said.
He Thought God “Had Better Priorities” Than Healing Him
“It was so strong it felt like a warm blanket just came over me and wrapped me up,” he added.
Then one of the hosts released a word of knowledge: “The pain is in the middle of your right foot. You’re not able to really put pressure on it, but He sees you. And He loves you and He’s healing this for you in the name of Jesus. You’ll be able to walk normally. Test it out even right now in Jesus’ name.”
What happened next surprised Vladimir. He was healed right there and then!
“I just got restored back to brand new. Like a factory reset, that pain was no longer restricting me. I felt like I was able to do anything. I feel God’s love even more stronger in my life. And I see it more visible now. God can heal and you definitely have to believe and I’m a testament to that,” he said.
