Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalms 37:4
The human heart is consistently seeking authentic love and connection, with a longing to be heard, understood, and accepted. It seeks to heal and bring hope, transforming personal passions into meaningful actions, while finding balance between serving others and personal joy.
When people see someone else’s life transformed through faith, it sparks belief in their own potential for this transformation. Sharing your personal journey can help others see God’s faithfulness in their own struggles, providing them with hope and these “me too” moments of connection.
Love Over Hate
The Bible teaches us that love is superior to hate, acting as a redemptive force that covers offenses rather than stirring up conflict. It commands believers to overcome evil with good, specifically by loving our enemies, praying for our persecutors, and showing this compassion instead of apathy.
There is a fundamental desire for self-improvement and growth—a “journey of becoming” that involves moving from self-doubt to this authentic love. 1 John 4:20 says that claiming to love God while hating a brother or sister is a lie, making love essential to a relationship with God.
Following Your Heart
Following your heart’s desire is a courageous journey that turns dreams into reality through consistent action, faith, and overcoming fear. It requires aligning your vision with God’s purpose for your life, allowing you to turn these desires into a reality.
Fulfilling the desires of the heart and aligning one’s will with God’s requires a deliberate, often difficult process of addressing inward brokenness. A heart marked by contention—harboring resentment, jealousy, anger, or fear—functions as a “poison” that not only imprisons the soul but also impacts physical and mental health. Through this process of healing (our hearts), we know we must forgive.
When your joy is found in God, your desires will align with His. It is a call to trust Him rather than simply chasing our own personal desires. The Bible encourages pursuing dreams that align with God’s will, emphasizing that true desires are shaped by “delighting in the Lord”.
Rather than pursue worldly wants and desires, it suggests that God plants purpose-driven dreams in the heart, inviting believers to trust His timing and commit their plans to Him.
Finding Your Inspiration
How we find our inspiration in this world can be determined by what it is we are looking for. It can be biblical inspiration, creative inspiration, or a sudden creativity with a new invention, media or design.
All of our experiences in life can be used as great lessons, if we truly allow them. If we believe in our hearts and minds that God is for us, then we’ll be sure to set our hearts to always seek Him, and in all things.
Nothing great in this world has ever been accomplished without this inspiration and passion. As you dwell in this private, intimate space with Him, your heart’s desires will begin to be more like His.
True inspiration comes from seeking God, leading to a life purposeful and aligned. It’s in these lessons that we’ve learned to know when it’s coming from God and not just man. 🙌
