Heidi Baker and her husband, Rolland, have been out on the mission field in Mozambique, doing the business of the Father – and that is to love. With terrorism and violence trying to dominate their nation, Heidi shares their secret on defeating the evil in the land, “fix your eyes on Jesus.”
Courageous Faith
In an exclusive interview with the CBN News, Heidi explains the motivation behind her new book, “God’s Got This: 40 Devotions Of Courageous Faith.” She said, “The world is shaking. Everyone on the planet has gone through something hard, challenging, and painful. But how do we see it through the lens of the power of God, the love of God? And how do we as believers comfort one another and use our challenging situations to help other people as well..”
She relates the book to her experiences in Mozambique. Heidi recalls how the people of Mozambique suffered under the insurgent attacks: losing their friends, fleeing from their burning homes, and seeing their loved ones getting beheaded. And yet, the church has stood in her courageous faith and opened her arms to the ones who need it.
“It’s really the beauty of the Mozambican Bride of Christ who teaches us what true love and generosity look like.”
Fix Your Eyes On Jesus
When asked about her message to the global church when persecution comes, she immediately answered, “Fix your eyes on Jesus.”
“He’s the Author and the Finisher,” she added. “We’ve lost people we love. They’re in heaven, and sometimes we lose sight of that. We forget the beauty of eternity.”
“And if we fix our eyes on Jesus, then we understand the veil is thin. Then we’re going to spend whatever amount of time we have on this planet shining for Him. And asking Him to rip fear out of us, so that we can love well.”
