The Scheme of the Devil
In 1 Peter 5:8, Apostle Peter warned the church to watch out for the devil. He said, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

In his teachings, Christian influencer Dylan Saldivar shared his experiences of how the devil manipulates individuals to lead Christians astray. Dylan recognized this tactic when he reached a level of spiritual maturity where external influences could not sway him.
“I remember so many times where I was so protected with my faith, my level of spiritual maturity, the devil couldn’t affect me,” he recalled. “It didn’t matter what was going on. I always had my faith in God. I said like ‘nope, no matter what happens, God’s got me. I’m good. Not worried whatsoever.’”

Manipulating People
However, Dylan’s unwavering faith was tested when unexpected individuals in his life began causing turmoil. He recounted how they “were almost intentionally bringing chaos” to him. That’s when he immediately discerned it was the devil’s alternative scheme to discourage him.
Dylan described how this tricky and sly tactic from the devil deceived and manipulated those around him as well. He explained, “Because when you have weak links in your circle, those people don’t have what you have, they don’t have the faith, the spiritual maturity or discernment, so the devil knows that.”

Then, he stressed how God used those people to really knock him down. Hence, Dylan suggested praying to God and asking for discernment and wisdom.
“So that always when things like that happen, you’re not dumbfounded or caught astray when those things happen,” he remarked. “You know exactly what the devil is trying to do to flip you off your course. And you can remain driving smoothly knowing that you still got full reliance and trust in God. And that the devil is just trying to knock you off your path.”
