When you become a Christian and decide to invite Jesus into your heart, did you know that you are actually inviting Him to come live inside of you? The reality is that you are actually co-dwelling with the presence of God – every moment of your life.
On the day of Pentecost after Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples were gathered together in one place when all of a sudden the Holy Spirit, Jesus’ promised “Helper”, came like a rushing wind “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.” (Acts 2:4)
The indwelling presence of God
Why were these people all of a sudden able to speak in other languages? What was the only difference before and after that experience? The Holy Spirit came!
And why was Peter able to stand up and preach for the first time in his life and see 3,000 people receive that revelation of Christ? Because the Holy Spirit came, blew on him and enabled him.
You see, being a Christian is more than just being a good person (we all know that), it’s about being transformed. And what can transform you more than God, Himself? The indwelling presence of God is the greatest gift we could have ever been given!

Missionaries for more than 30 years
A couple who know how to live in the presence of God is Rolland and Heidi Baker. Heroes of the faith, they are the founders and directors of Iris Ministries. They have served as missionaries for more than 30 years to the world’s poorest people. They both earned PhD degrees at King’s College, University of London and have lived and ministered for many years in Pemba, Mozambique.
