As believers we face spiritual battles regularly, but God has called us by name to be victorious, says Natasha Owens in a devotional message in the video below. The popular American singer/songwriter speaks from personal experience offering both encouraging words and sounds.
Natasha is a good example of a spiritual warrior who has learnt to overcome. She nearly died last year and had to fight her way back to physical health. She has also faced a mental health crisis, following a bout of depression after the sudden death of her father. However, despite any darkness we face, we’re called to be people of the light, she says in her devotional message below, quoting the book of 1st Peter.
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

About Natasha Owens
Natasha is an award-winning recording artist who globally released her third, full-length album, Warrior, on March 29 from Radiate Music.
In her debut album I Made it Through she shared the heartache and pain she experienced in the aftermath of her father’s passing. This was followed by We Will Rise, which earned her a Best Contemporary Album of the Year award. Now in her new album, Warrior, Natasha delivers pulsating, arena-ready anthems with the central devotional message that there is nothing to fear with God on our side.
Produced by Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winner, Ian Eskelin, Warrior shares themes of declaring God’s love, the confidence that comes from knowing Him, and the expectation that we are to step out and share what we know.
Natasha is also known for bringing a devotional message to a diverse audience of people. “I want to show people that they can make it too,” Natasha says. “Being a warrior means that my wounds have healed, but I still have the scars to prove it. The scars remind me that I don’t have to worry about the next battle because I know God will be standing with me.”
As she shares in her devotional message in the video, Natasha’s overcomer’s attitude was put to the test as she nearly died last year following a diagnostic, arteriogram procedure that accidentally punctured an artery. Following this procedure that was meant to help with a condition following a car wreck that happened 17 years ago, doctors removed her top rib, as well as several different muscles.
Up at 3 am one morning facing terrible nerve pain, she admits, “I was bawling, so tired and worn down from hurting for so long. Then God just came in, calmed me down and spoke to me. He said that there are so many things in life you don’t have control over. You’ll have to let Me have control, trust in Me that I’ve guided you this far and I’m not gonna let you down now.”
From her home base in Dallas, TX, Owens will be traveling across the USA in 2019. She has previously toured with some of Christian music’s bestselling artists, including Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Matthew West, Danny Gokey and others.
Remember’ Natasha’s devotional message, step out of the boat and don’t let doubt and belief allow you to drown.
