Rejoicing In The Lord Despite Tragedy
But despite the tragedy that happened, many remain hopeful. Contrary to what most people expect as a response to the catastrophe, Christians chose to worship God amidst all of it. Their response to the trauma was to rejoice in the Lord.
Artist Jimmy Levy shared a heartwarming video on Instagram about the Christians’ response. It was a moment of praise inside a church that opened its doors to shelter the Maui victims. Short clips showed some locals dancing and praising God inside the church.

The response these Christians showed despite the tragedy reminds us of the hope found in God alone. They might have lost everything from the flames, but something eternal is within them. Everything in this world is temporary and bound to fade. And if we have Jesus, losing the things of this world is not really counted a loss, because having Jesus means everything.
