Award-Winning Rapper KB Unveils ‘Dangerous Jesus’ Book On Good Morning America

Award-winning rapper Kevin “KB” Burgess unveiled his new book “Dangerous Jesus” in Good Morning America. He was also able to share powerful truths about Jesus on national television.

Dangerous Jesus

Hip-hop artist Kevin Elijah Burgess, popularly known as “KB,” talked about his Christian faith on national television. He appeared in Good Morning America’s GMA3 Faith Friday segment. The author spoke about his debut book “Dangerous Jesus.”

During the interview, the show host asked about the provocative title of his new book. He particularly asked, “what do you mean when you say Jesus is dangerous?”

Good Athlete

To answer the question, KB explained by illustrating the image of a good athlete. He remarked that a good athlete is deemed a “dangerous athlete” to the opposing team in a game.

“If you are a dangerous athlete, then that means you are a threat to the things that could cause us to lose,” he said. “And when I think about Jesus, He is the sum and substance of what it means to be dangerous in a positive sense..”

Rethinking Jesus

Further, KB discussed one of the things he highlighted in his book, “rethinking Jesus could revive our society.” The hip-hop artist explained the importance of Christians being the salt and light of the world.

At first, he stressed how God redeems the lives of those far from hope and life. He also said he is a living testimony that God brought out from the darkness into a flourishing place.

Then he pointed out Matthew 5 in the Scripture, where God’s people become the salt in this world. As salt preserves and enhances food, KB remarked, “we are to be flavorful” and “to make things better and keep back that which destroys.”

“If we become the kind of people who are walking like Jesus walk,” he further added. “Not like vampire Christians… we not only want the benefits of what He’s done, we want to look like Him, love like Him, be merciful like Him to stand for the vulnerable like He did.”

Then he concluded, “That makes us salty in this world. And it’s preserving, and it’s flavorful, and flourishing comes afterwards.”
