Ms. Amy, from the Christian kids’ show “Holy Sprouts,” shared practical ways to bring Jesus into kids’ everyday routines.
Bring Jesus to kids
Christian parents aim to raise their children in the knowledge and under the lordship of Jesus Christ. But it is also challenging to introduce Jesus to kids who might not have that level of comprehension as with adults. So, Ms. Amy presented six practical ways to bring Jesus into their daily routines. Number one, she suggested involving them in making cards for people on your church’s prayer list. It will activate their creativity as well as their interest in prayer.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
Second, pray before meals and at bedtime. Christian parents must lead their children into prayer because this is a fundamental stepping stone in their relationship with God.
Third, Ms. Amy advised every parent to include their children when they take meals to people. In other words, take them with you in doing the ministry. Do not just bring them along but involve them so they will grow up and learn how to minister to others.
Fourth, she said to listen to worship music when doing regular chores and hanging out at home. As young as they are, expose them to worship music because music is a language that directly ministers to one’s spirit. Moreover, they will learn to express their worship of God by singing.
Fifth, read them a Bible story or Christian book each night before bed. In addition to prayer, learning the Bible is a basic discipline of a Christian life. So, it is also important for children to start them early on.
Lastly, Ms. Amy shared to choose Christian shows to watch when they have screen time. She suggested shows such as “Listener Kids”, “Holy Sprouts,” and Superbook.”
