Brexit is still the word on everyone’s lips as the UK gears up for the European elections on May 23rd. If things had gone to plan the UK would have already been out of the EU, but it is now forced to participate in an election Prime Minister, Theresa May hoped would be unnecessary.
Already in crisis, due to its failure to deliver the result the British people voted for, to leave the EU, the Government could be thrown into a further panic this week following the European Election. Theresa May’s political career is hanging in the balance and especially now that the new Brexit Party seems to be well in the lead.
Brexit is a hugely divisive topic with globalist and nationalist viewpoints clashing. There are some Christians who say the UK should stay in Europe as it will make it easier for European evangelism – however, there are those who believe the EU is inherently evil. This blog post shares a personal view held by those who study Bible prophecy and is a fascinating analysis of the Brexit debate, with points of view not available in the mainstream media, however valid they may be.
Brexit and The New World Order
As time runs out on this world as we know it, we are seeing a remarkable countdown to the return of Jesus unfold before our eyes. Yes, there is doom and gloom ahead but we choose rather to focus on our Lord’s return. Jesus said we must occupy until He returns and that is what we must do – be salt and light wherever we find ourselves.
For those believers who find themselves in the United Kingdom, they have an opportunity to make a stand against globalism and the New World Order and trust God to use Britain as a sovereign nation to impact the world as it has done so many times before. After all, it was British missionaries who opened up many parts of the world to the Gospel. And, it was Britain that has boldly stood against the Antichrist Beast System, time after time.
The late, great eschatologist, Barry Smith taught so brilliantly on the New World Order and the Rise of the Antichrist. “The man dies, but the spirit lives on,” he used to say, referring to the spirit of the Antichrist. Barry believed the Antichrist spirit has been passed on through many would-be world conquerors including Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler.
Bonaparte tried to make France the ruler of Europe and Hitler, Germany but the British Isles stood in their way. Barry spoke about the United States of Europe that would arise to facilitate the coming of the Antichrist – a European leader that will rule much of the world.
The European Union may well be part of this ‘beast system’. It is a re-emergence of the Roman Empire and it is therefore no surprise that it was founded by the Treaty of Rome. A powerful new Caesar is coming who will be more brutal than any of the Roman kings that preceded him.
So what has this got to do with Great Britain and Brexit? Well, many Christians believe that the Scriptures indicate that the UK will not be part of the European confederation in the Last Days. Therefore it cannot remain in the EU.
Sheep and Goat Nations
It has been taught that when God judges the nations it will be based on the way they have treated Israel. The sheep nations will be those who have supported Israel and the goat nations will those who have stood against her. Through Bible Prophecy we see that Europe will ultimately turn against Israel whereas Britain will not. For many, this, therefore, shows that the UK will not ultimately be part of Europe.
Despite all this, the UK faces a far better future outside of Europe than within. It is ironic to consider that this nation that has a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council had to wait for the agreement of 27 other countries to decide its fate recently with regard to its extension of Article 50.
It seems as if all hell has broken loose to stop the UK from leaving the EU. The “Bullies in Brussels” could have easily compromised to let Theresa May’s deal go through but they never wanted the UK to leave in the first place and are still hoping to reverse the process entirely.
Mrs. May, originally a Remainer, must be given credit for taking on the Brexit challenge to ensure the result of the Referendum is delivered. She has faced enormous obstacles. It seems like every demon in hell has stood against her and yet by God’s grace she is still standing after one crisis after another.
Unfortunately, she shows signs of caving in and moving from her “red lines”. As she famously has said, “Brexit means Brexit,” and hopefully she will still be able to deliver on this.
A Customs Union with the EU may solve the complex issue of the UK / Irish border (Ireland is the UK’s only land barrier with the EU). However, it will mean that the UK is unable to negotiate its own trade deals and therefore in effect cannot act as a sovereign power.
Remaining part of the Common Market is not the answer either as that requires freedom of movement meaning that the UK would not be able to take back control of its borders. Again this is not sovereignty.
The UK does not need Europe. It has the British Commonwealth – hundreds of countries, many of which stand poised to offer the UK trade deals. It’s time for the UK to leave Europe, the Custom’s Union, the Common Market and the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice.
The UK, a sovereign nation
It’s time for Britain to become a sovereign nation again that can act on its own on the world stage, no longer bullied by Brussels and able to stand with Israel when the time comes.
The EU has plans to bring their integration further, including plans for a European army. (see UK Brexit Chaos As France And Germany Merge!) The UK would only thwart their plans if it was still in the Union. So in a way the UK is holding back the rise of the Antichrist Beast system. So, Brexit delayed is not the end of the world for Bible-believing Christians, however the longer it is delayed we are told that we face the risk of ‘No Brexit at all’.
That’s a lie. Brexit is coming whether we like it or not. The people are starting to fight back. In a recent poll concerning the European Elections, the new Brexit Party is well in the lead. Brexit may be delayed with another referendum; the negotiation of a new deal or for whatever reason but ultimately it will not be denied.
There are wonderful Bible-believing Christians who are Remainers. They feel that being part of the EU opens huge doors for evangelism in a borderless continent. That is a good point. But for how long will we be able to share the Gospel openly? Through the rise of Secular Humanism, Christianity is being eroded in many spheres of European society. Sadly this is the same in the UK where freedom of speech and political correctness rules the day. Remember the rise of the Antichrist comes along with the rise of the False Prophet, a new global religious unity that will ultimately proclaim the Antichrist as God. These things sound unbelievable and yet they are starting to happen in front of our eyes.
