A 10-year-old Boy was caught by his mother encouraging and praying for his friends while he was playing his Oculus online.
Praying For His Friends
Ashton is a 10-year-old boy who dearly loves Jesus. He was recently baptized last January, and his fire for God continues to burn even while playing online games. One time, his mother heard him downstairs playing his Oculus online. While actively engaging with his friends, he boldly said he wanted to pray for them. “ So first, I’m going to pray for you… I want you to have the best experience you’ll have. And I want you to feel comfortable. And to make you know that people are here for you. Okay?”, he shared.
After that, he declared this beautiful prayer for his online friend, “Dear God, please help this man’s mother to get better. And for her to be happy and for everyone to comfort her at this time of distress. Help her to feel better. And for her to just get better and have a better day. Like, cuz she is in the hospital right now. Please help her. Please help her to get better, please help her just to feel comforted. In Jesus’ name. And everyone said, ‘amen.’” He then hoped for his friend to have a better day and for his mother to be healed.
Sharing Jesus Online
Furthermore, her mother posted the video on TikTok, which has already blessed millions. One of his friends’ mothers commented, “Oh my gosh! Your son played with my son the other day and we heard him say this! I sat and listened and cried! Cuz this is not normal on VR! What a big world but to see this is a sign from God!” The power of faith and prayer, embodied in a 10-year-old boy, had left a lasting impression.
Moreover, people on TikTok also believed Ashton sparked a movement for the younger generation. He started to use the online platform to share the good news and the love of Jesus. One of the mothers, Nikki Barry, who watched him also testified, “There was a kid on Xbox that talked to my son about God, and it had more of an impact on his walk with God than any church we had taken him to before that.” Indeed, Ashton wasn’t alone in this movement. There were now kids who started to share Jesus even while playing online.
