Blake Shelton has publicly professed how he found God this year. And he credits his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, who always encourages him to go to church.
Both Blake and Gwen were going through divorces when they met on the set of NBC’s “The Voice”. They became a couple during the fall of 2015. That’s when God started to pull Blake to His presence through Gwen. She had always asked him to go to church. And for the first time in his life, he said yes. He realized he needed to turn a new page.

Blake Shelton And His Rededication To God
In an interview with The Tennessean, Blake revealed about his rededication to God.
“I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life. The biggest part of that is just how [Gwen] came into my life and now our relationship,” he said.
He then brazenly added, “If you take God out of it, it doesn’t make sense. If you put God into it, everything that’s happened with us makes sense.”
Today, the couple is still working together for NBC’s “The Voice” Season 17. And they recently announced their new single entitled “Nobody But You.”
“This was one of those songs where the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it,” he told E! News. He continued, “I also realized how important it is for me and where I am in my life…”
Being An Infant In Christ
Blake was also honest about being an infant in Christ. He admitted that sometimes he still drinks too much or curses. However, his recent songs are filled with lyrics about his faith in God. That includes the “God’s Country” song which hit No. 1 and was even nominated for a Grammy Award.
Blake Shelton Writes Song About Jesus After Dream During A “Very Dark Time”
Another song “Jesus Got a Tight Grip” goes:
“Jesus got a tight grip on my soul and He ain’t letting go, He ain’t letting go / The devil reaches out but he can’t grab hold because Jesus got a tight grip on my soul / Might have a little rust on my halo / But when I’m gone I know where I’ll go.”
This is just the start of Blake Shelton’s journey in his faith. And surely in the process, God will mold him and continue to mature him to be more like Christ. Let’s continue to pray for Blake Shelton – that his love for God would break every chain in his life.
