After she attempted to take her own life, God sent someone to knock on her door and pray for her.
Betty was born in Samoa and was a churchgoer but she never really knew Jesus. Growing up, life had been good to her. She even got a managerial job despite not being able to finish school. During the weekends, she would often drinks and party with her friends.
Amidst having a “good life” she still felt something was missing in her life. She fell into depression and tried to end her life in 2007. After her failed suicide attempt, she heard a knock on her door and she saw her Christian friend whom she hadn’t seen in years.
“God sent me to pray for you,” that friend told her.
Thanks to her, she began to build a relationship with Jesus but it was just short-lived. She backslid and returned to her old ways. But when her heart stopped during a six-hour surgery, that’s when she finally turned to Christ.
“I have to experience death to see God’s grace that I took for granted… It’s not God’s purpose for me. There’s a reason for me to come back, not knowing God’s plan,” she recalled.
On September 2018, Betty and her husband Ray got baptized.
“By the power of God, by the power of Jesus, I am free from alcohol. No longer drinking. Free from seeking the world, free from fear, free from the battle of the mind… I thank God for bringing me here. I thank God for the prize He carried for my sins.”
Today, Betty is sharing the Gospel with the lost.
“God has transformed me, renewed my life, a new life, happier than ever, so much peace.”
