Are tattoos sinful? Will I be viewed as rebellious if I have one? Are they satanic? Can a Christian get a tattoo?
These are some of the many questions people ask and you may at least consider thinking about the answers.
The topic of tattoos can be a sensitive one especially to people who live in this fast-changing modern world, but what does the Bible actually say about them?

For those who are against them the root of this particular issue is found in the book of Leviticus 19: 28 which says, “Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.”
However, this verse doesn’t actually define the act of having a tattoo as an actual sin. As we read further in context the meaning of this verse, we see that God is actually referring to idolatry as the actual sin, not the act of having a tattoo.
What’s essential for Christians is that they should ask how having a tattoo will introduce God to other people, not whether it is right or wrong to have a tattoo or not. In this video, Jon Jorgenson talks about common misconceptions that many believers have about tattoos, and unpacks what the Bible really teaches about body art. Let’s hear from Jon as he takes this issue deeper.
