A recorded video of a delivery driver of Amazon taking the time to pray for a customer’s baby boy with a heart condition in Nampa, Idaho has gone viral and inspired many.
Lucas Pearson is less than a year with a heart condition. Because of this, he is more likely to be at risk for respiratory complications, such as the COVID-19. So his parents took the extra precautions just to protect their child.

Pandemic Precautions
Amid the pandemic, Derek and Raquel Pearson solely depended on online orders. They would only order products online so they wouldn’t have to go outside. The couple wouldn’t want to risk exposing their son to the virus.

“He needs special thickeners to be able to eat, otherwise he aspirates his milk. So we really depend on getting all of these supplies online so we don’t have to go out to the store and bring a virus home,” the mother, Raquel told KTVB. “We just want to minimize exposure to coronavirus.”
And this is what Derek and Raquel were doing for the past few months during lockdown. But on one fateful day, an Amazon delivery driver took them by surprise.
Apparently, the couple have placed a sign on their door for delivery drivers explaining about Lucas’ condition.

A Sweet Delivery Driver
One day, while waiting for an important order, a delivery driver was caught by the doorbell camera praying. She rang the doorbell and left the package on the doorstep before uttering a short prayer.
Monica Salinas found out about Lucas’ situation through the note. In an interview with a local news station, she said, “There was a note and it said their baby’s food was essential, and every time I see that note, it just touches my heart.”
More so, the 41-year-old said, “I just stopped to do what my heart told me to do, to say a prayer for the baby and for the parents because that’s got to be very painful for all of them to see their baby hurt and struggle. I just prayed that they can make it through another day, one day at a time.”

Grateful
Also, Raquel revealed to a news agency that her tears fell off after seeing Monica’s sweet gesture.
“We were very grateful that a stranger would take time out of her very busy day to pray for our baby,” she explained.
Further, Raquel shared the video to express her gratitude in a local COVID-19 Facebook group. Soon enough, it caught many people’s attention online as well as international media outlets.
“God has always been very important in my whole life,” Monica explained.
“And I would like to let everyone know that God is good. I always tell people, every day, that God is good, one day at a time.”
