A 6-year-old boy fighting against cancer explained why he wasn’t mad at God despite the pain and difficulties that he faced.
Fighting Against Cancer
A 6-year-old courageous boy named Hunt was going through a tough battle. He was fighting against eye cancer, which led him to go through a series of painful treatments. Together with his father, Timothy Valverde, they talked about his journey and the reason why he wasn’t mad at God. Timothy first asked his son about the possible reason why God allowed him to experience cancer. He then explained that God chose him. Hunt believed that he was a special boy.
Then, his father inquired, “Are you mad at God?” Hunt answered, “No.” After that, he emphasized, “I’m glad that He chose me. And not one of like Maddie or Emma…because then they’re going to have to go through this.” Hunt didn’t want other people to suffer. His answers made Timothy cry. On the other hand, Hunt understood why his father was getting emotional. He knew that he didn’t want him to go through cancer.
He Wasn’t Mad At God
Furthermore, Timothy tearfully said to Hunt, “I wish I was going through it. I wish I had cancer so that you wouldn’t have to have it. But God said no, huh? You know it hurt Daddy and Mommy so much to see you go through everything.” Hunt just looked at his father and smiled.
Moreover, Timothy asked him another question, “Why do you still smile?” Then, Hunt highlighted that even though he had pain and struggles, God still made him happy. “I don’t like to be sad or mad at God,” he shared. His father stressed that he would see his beautiful smile every single day, even when they were in the hospital. And he believed that his smile helped a lot of people.
