To seek and to save
The words of Jesus in Luke 19:10 continually grip my heart. “For the son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” And oh did He do it with all of His being.
This was why He came to earth. Not to make a name for Himself. Not to be on the front cover of every magazine. Not to be in a popularity contest with anyone. No, no, no! He came for something far greater than any of these petty accolades bestowed upon Him by mortal hands.
He understood His purpose and did not for one moment deviate from it. He suffered much to achieve this but pressed on to complete His assignment. And He did just that! When the Cross of Calvary was hoisted high with Jesus nailed to it with one last breath He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
What a man! What an example! What a hero! Now that He has completed His earthly assignment, He has tasked you and me to be His mouth, hands, and feet to seek and to save the lost through the power of His Spirit.
Let us, like Jesus not deviate from this most important calling. We are living in urgent times and people need saving. Let’s get going, now is the time, no more delay!
